Azos Protocol Audits Repository

This repository contains the comprehensive security audit reports for the Azos protocol, documenting the evolution of the same codebase from 2016 to 2025 across multiple DeFi protocols: MakerDAO (SAI/MCD) → Reflexer (RAI) → HAI → Azos (AZUSD).

📁 Repository Structure

  • Halborn Security Audit - Official security assessment of the Azos protocol
  • MakerDAO Public Audit 2016 - Initial audit of the SAI (Single Collateral DAI) system
  • Bok Consulting MakerDAOSaiContractAudit 2017 - Comprehensive audit of the SAI contract
  • White Hat Group SAI Audit 2017 - Security assessment of Single Collateral DAI
  • Trail of Bits Audit Dappsys Single Collateral DAI 2017 - SCD implementation audit
  • Trail of Bits Audit Dappsys 2017 - Core Dappsys infrastructure audit
  • Trail of Bits Multi Collateral DAI 2018 - MCD system security assessment
  • OpenZeppelin Core Contracts Audit 2020 - Security validation of RAI core contracts
  • **Quantstamp Helper Contracts Audit 2021

🔍 Codebase Evolution Timeline

This repository documents the security audit history of the same evolving codebase:

2016-2018: MakerDAO Era

  • SAI (Single Collateral DAI): Initial implementation with comprehensive audits
  • Dappsys: Core infrastructure development and security validation
  • MCD (Multi Collateral DAI): Evolution to multi-collateral system

2020-2021: Reflexer Era

  • RAI: Non-pegged stable asset built on the evolved codebase
  • Core Contracts: Security validation of the refined implementation

2023-2024: HAI Era

  • HAI Protocol: DeFi-native stablecoin on Optimism
  • Enhanced Features: New core features with security validation

2024-2025: Azos Era

  • AZUSD: Latest evolution of the codebase
  • HAI-onOP Fork: Azos forked the HAI contracts as the foundation

🛡️ Audit Methodology

Azos employs a comprehensive audit approach that leverages the full audit history:

  1. Direct Code Audit: Professional security firms audit our current implementation
  2. Evolutionary Validation: Running historical audit reports against our forked codebase
  3. Security Preservation: Ensuring our modifications maintain the security of the original
  4. Comprehensive Coverage: Full audit validation across the entire codebase evolution

Audit Status

  • Completed: Azos Halborn Security Audit (Direct - 2025)
  • Completed: MakerDAO Era Audits (2016-2018)
  • Completed: Reflexer Era Audits (2020-2021)
  • Completed: HAI Era Audits (2023-2024)
  • 🔄 Ongoing: Continuous validation of the evolved codebase

📋 Audit Review Guidelines

When reviewing Azos audits, consider:

  1. Evolutionary Context: How the codebase has evolved from 2016 to 2025
  2. Security Preservation: How each iteration maintained security standards
  3. Vulnerability Prevention: How issues were addressed across iterations
  4. Code Integrity: How the core security patterns have been preserved
  5. Comprehensive Coverage: Full validation of the entire codebase evolution

🔬 Codebase Evolution Validation Process

Each audit serves as a validation of the evolving codebase:

  • Historical Audit Reports: Running audits from each era against our current implementation
  • Security Preservation: Verifying our modifications maintain the security of each iteration
  • Vulnerability Prevention: Ensuring we haven't introduced new issues
  • Code Quality: Maintaining the same security standards throughout evolution
  • Comprehensive Validation: Full audit coverage of the entire codebase history

🤝 Contributing

To add new Azos protocol audits:

  1. Add direct audit reports to the ./Azos/ directory
  2. Add evolutionary audit reports to their respective protocol directories
  3. Update this README with the new audit information
  4. Submit a pull request
