Setup and Installation

1. Install dependencies:

   pip install -r requirements.txt
   

2. Set up your environment variables:

   • Create a .env file in the root directory with the following:

   OPENAI_API_KEY=your_openai_api_key_here
   GOOGLE_MAPS_API_KEY=your_google_maps_api_key_here
   FLASK_SECRET_KEY=a_secure_random_string_for_sessions
   

3. Run the web application:

   python main.py
   

4. Access the application in your browser at http://127.0.0.1:8080

API Keys Required

• OpenAI API Key: For generating chatbot responses
• Google Maps API Key: For Places API and Geocoding API to find nearby halal carts

Deployment

This application is configured for Vercel deployment with the following files:

• api/index.py: Entry point for Vercel
• vercel.json: Configuration for routing and server setup

Usage

1. Allow location access when prompted in your browser
2. Type your questions or comments in the chat input
3. The chatbot will respond with relevant information and halal food recommendations
4. Click on the restaurant names to view their location on Google Maps
5. Use the "Clear Chat" button to start a new conversation
