Would you want to see 3rd-party plugin support for SGI?
As a user
Rather than having to use a bloated version of SGI that contains lots of niche features, each with their own group of settings, would you rather have the option to download plugins created by other developers specifically for SGI instead?
An example would be this feature request that I chose not to add #436. Though it might be a useful feature, it wasn't a "good fit" for core SGI. But another dev might be willing to create it as a plugin instead, so users who do want it can add it, without needing to bloat SGI's codebase.
As a developer
The bigger question is, would you as a developer be interested in creating a plugin for SGI? Maybe you liked a feature request that was denied because it "didn't fit SGI's use case", or maybe you just like creating stuff for other people to use and would like to use SGI as a platform for that.
Support for 3rd-party plugins only exists if there are devs out there willing to create them. I don't necessarily want to add support for plugins if no one is interested in creating them.
This could open SGI up to a much broader user base as well. Instead of only focusing on SGI's core feature, there could be an endless list of useful 3rd-party plugins that add features that otherwise wouldn't be added to SGI, such as
inventory managers
,trade manager bots
,free games collector
, etc..Let me know by voting below 🍻
