Note I think the answer to this from trial and error is, no you can't! I have instead made a python API that the app can call for now. |

Can the side service read a photo file from the phone given a path e.g. using regular node functions like readFile or readFileSync?
Can the settings app let the user pick an image file and get the path i.e. is there a photo chooser UI component of some sort?
