Are there any (non-trivial) examples of usb_audio_send?

I've been spending a few days with usb_audio_send and thus far have been fairly unsuccessful.

Here are my observations thus far:

data_written_cb does not appear to be called unless an actual transfer occurs, which means it is easy to exhaust the net buffer pool without ever freeing anything (e.g. if the host is not listening). The zephyr examples neatly sidestep this by simply round-tripping the headphone data, which is obviously not that useful.

calling usb_audio_send when data_request_cb fires (which seems reasonable) results in USBD event allocation failed!. Unclear if this is related to the first issue. The examples also sidestep this by only calling send in response to receive!

In some very constrained and trivial cases I am able to get (fake) data to transfer. However, every attempt at transferring actual audio has been completely defeated.

Disregard - modifying the headphone/mic example doesn't display this behavior so there's something about my project.
