I enjoy using zed. It's fast, satisfactory and clean to the look. I only recently found out that I can resize the panels. It has a great impact to me in working with zed. But I could have known sooner if the cursor had changed to something that indicates the panels can be resized such as resize arrows. Plus, it's slightly difficult to resize the panels for the user when they don't know where in the interface they have to go to know that they can resize the desired panel. Test-dragging the border and accidental clicking may even trigger unexpected and unwanted actions. Therefore, my first request is to make the cursor change when it is on the border of a panel.
The second one is providing options for the user to create a layout they are comfortable working with, such as allowing them to set the default width and height of panels of respective resize-ability, to create layout as in css grid-template or letting them save the arbitrarily adjusted layouts. Being able to create a layout that is comfortable for one would be an added joy to their editing journey.
