Allow to show edit predictions only when I'm holding the Alt/Option key down?

I tried out edit predictions, but turned it off as there was too much "action" on the screen (for my brain) when I was typing stuff and it got too distracting.

One option would be to only show the edit prediction content when I hold down the Option (or Alt) key:

• If I release the Option/Alt key, the predicted content will be hidden again (not accepted)
• If I hit TAB (while still holding the Option/Alt modifier key) down, the predicted changes are accepted

I do realize that on Windows ALT+Tab has a different meaning, but the modifier key could be configured to something else. There's a related recent fix/improvement in this area: #25406
