So, I love Zed. It's beautiful, and fast, and so simple to configure.
Truly, it's great!
But as a long-time (N)Vim/tmux user (11 years+), there's always one things that hampers me from adopting a new editor (this applies to VSCode / Cursor / and of course... Zed).
It's that my mental model/mode of doing work - is terminal first.
I open my terminal, and then open my editor when I need it. If I need to run a command real quick - I make a split (to the right, or bottom), run that command - and then it closes.
Sometimes, I even have two separate instances of nvim running in tmux "splits" (separate projects), and then multiple projects open in different tmux "windows".
It allows me to full-screen my terminal, and just work on things - w/out having to swap tools / break focus / etc.
Typical editors aren't capable of this -- BUT, for all that I've seen Zed accomplish and do (especially the beautiful Vim mode) - I'm confident that you all could make this a thing 😇
Whaddya say?
