Open buffer on file rename

I often have the case where I use an existing file as a template for a new one. With Zed it happened now way too many times that after the copy paste and rename in files/project panel I confirm the rename with the return key and because the file content is identical to the source I start happily make my adjustments only realizing later it is the original source file I am editing because on rename the file was not opened in buffer. I really wish there would be an option for this somehow that selecting a file from the file Explorer, which you need to do to rename it, opens it in the buffer already.
