Please support model selection. I need sonnet[1m]

Model Selection is really important

I currently use claude code with the, sonnet[1m] model, with 1 million tokens context window, allot.

I use this via the API as my claude max plan doesn't seem to have access to the 1 million context window yet.

Please allow me to select the model!

Awesome project though this will be a huge gamechanger, if implement well!

Is it possible to at least show what model is currently being used?

Otherwise for example I can open claude cli and change it to (say) Opus and then use Zed's integration but without it being shown I am not sure if it's applied correctly.

That sadly does not work for the 1M context window. You have to set it in the CLI.
If you only set it in the settings.json, what will happen is it will load the non-1M context version of it, even if you set it with the 1M flag.

Yes, we definitely need a way to verify which model is currently being used. Set the model and, in the best case, even see how much context is left.

@agu-z if you guys need an API token with a small budget that has access to the 1m context window I would be very happy to provide that! Let me know if you need anything

@samuellembke this is definitely high on our roadmap! We have a portion of this sketched out in the protocol for our own agent, and are working on finding a solution since there are limitations in the SDK, but we will likely find a way to handle this, even if you can only select it when starting a new thread.

Yes but setting the 1m context version doesn't work sadly.

It will use the non 1m version instead.

Same issue here, I can' seem to be able to chose between opus and sonnet. It always default to sonnet.
Can't wait for that feature to come out.
