There are handy features in the extended Markdown.

A couple of them are worth mentioning:

1. Footnotes
2. Definition List

I haven't had time to maintain this repository for a long time, but I happened to come across this issue. You may find this (https://github.com/yzhang-gh/vscode-markdown?tab=readme-ov-file#q-which-markdown-syntax-is-supported) useful, at least markdown-footnotes is supported.
