Adding Try ... Catch Extension

Hello, there is now a try...catch extension to jinja in Python: https://github.com/RewstApp/jinja-try-catch/tree/master

Is there any way we can pay you to add this functionality to your code? If not, we can add it as an extension. We are getting errors left and righr

I can buy you several weeks of coffee. We are looking for is the ability to add Try...Catch block incode the Jinja script. Here is the Python example: https://github.com/RewstApp/jinja-try-catch/tree/master This is similar logic to the if...then conditions but we just need it structured like try...catch and trapping the error. We are looking to set output results based on errors, not just returning them.

Like this:

{%- try -%}
{{ 1 / 0 }}
{%- catch -%}
Can't divide by zero!
{%- endtry -%}

or

{%- try -%}
{{ 1 / 0 }}
{%- catch -%}
Uh-oh, an error occurred:

Only way to get exception type without reflection is to use Object.runtimeType:

{%- try -%}
  {{ 1 / 0 }}
{%- catch exception -%} // as new variable
  {{ exception | runtimeType }}: {{ exception }} // use filter to get type name
{%- endtry -%}
