Stepping Down from Yew and Open Source

I'm stepping down as a maintainer of Yew, and leaving open source entirely.

This decision comes after years of accumulated stress, disillusionment, and emotional exhaustion. This is not related to Yew in particular but I’ve experienced hostility, gatekeeping, and condescension — not just from demanding users, but also from maintainers. I’ve been on both sides: burned out by expectations I never agreed to, and mistreated even when trying to contribute in good faith.

If anyone on the Yew team needs access, or anything before I go, let me know — I’ll help however I can.

Oh no! Yew lost a humble bumblebee! As an open source maintainer, I totally get how frustrating that can be, especially coming from a maintainer like you who has put in so much hard work. Sending all the best vibes in this life and beyond!
