Operating System-Specific Installation Mechanisms Status

Hi,

I am currently migrating a project from Yarn 1 to Yarn 2. The installation process documentation of Yarn 2 says:

npm install -g yarn

However, the one of Yarn 1 shows different instructions for each operating systems. What are the status of those installation mechanisms? I'm wondering especially about Debian/Ubuntu and Windows installations because they are provided with a repository and installers provided by this project. (e.g. is https://dl.yarnpkg.com/debian/ recommendable for new installations?)
