No public demonstration; dead link: inactive/development-/experiment-/testing-only? #685

When YaCy.net had easily-findable publicly-accessible demonstration (demo) search engine, I recommended to everyone I discussed any search engines with, and used daily, as did some friends/family; installed on my server, which needs physical repair, so can't use: recent years is there even public demonstration YaCy.net search engine? Demo link many pages down (bottom) seems yacy.searchlab.eu '502 bad gateway', so go back, 'install yourself'. Vast majority of people can't; they want search box atop front page (like all others) not following 'demo' link (especially 2/3 people having shorter attention span than 1900s) far to find broken/misleading: if there's no demo, please change/remove link.. unless fixed (HTML lets you seamlessly/unnoticeably embed since 1997) I must advise users remove from web browsers. :(
Has there been no long-term/stable/user update almost 10 years; when I repair server, is it outdated (insecure?) or development-/experiment-/testing-only: if I no longer program java, nor programmed search engines, do I need to roll to development/experiment/testing branch or too difficult without knowing Java & YaCy & version control systems (VCS) details (if not, how do I upgrade to, stay on latest git commit)?
I hope to see YaCy more usable for average people, uninvolved programmers/scientists (including older who don't program with VCS). Apparently forum was deleted/restarted--including all relevant technical questions I got help on--and the Internet Relay Chat room seems dead... hope to see those return.
I hope YaCy replaces Google as #1 popular someday, but needs to be easy even for 70 to 100 IQ people, those with low attention spans (2/3 generations and part of older ones at this point), i.e., search box atop frontpage.
None of this is criticism; just serious comments/questions.
