Run my game with MangoHud?

Hello. I have this code:

target("app1")
    set_kind("binary")
    add_files("App1/**.cpp")
    set_rundir("$(projectdir)/data/App1")
    on_run(function(target)
        local command = string.format("mangohud %s", target:basename())
        print(command)
        os.run(command)
    end)

Output is:

mangohud app1
error: env: ‘app1’: No such file or directory

How can I set the working directory, or how should I make this work, if there is a better way to do this?

xmake run -w [dir] or set_rundir

But I'm actually using set_rundir in the xmake.lua file. Should I do something else?

you use on_run to override builtin run scripts. please remove it.

if you use on_run, you need to switch work dir manually.

Does xmake run only run a single executable when you specify a target? Can you please add the functionality to run another binary along with the target from the command line? (Like in my example: mangohud app1)

Let's say: xmake run [target] --pre_cmd [optional binary to run before the target]

you can use xmake run -g group and set_group to run a group of targets.

In this case, mangohud is an external binary, installed by the Fedora packages
How should I set it up?

you can only rewrite on_run yourself and switch rundir yourself

Ok, but can I make it optional? If some times I dont want to run it that way, can I skip the override set in the xmake.lua file?

you can define a custom rule with on_run, and use add_rules to apply it.

then add an option to enable/disable this rule.
