Hello, I'm really happy to have discovered this project. It looks like the missing piece in what I'm currently building for my avionics setup. I have a background in electronics and a strong interest in open hardware. A few years ago, I released a daughterboard for Stratux that added TX support, GPS, power management, IMU, pressure sensors, and two serial outputs to connect to an ATC chain. More recently, I’ve designed and built a full electrical power distribution module for ultralight aircraft. I’ve been flying with it for the past two years. It handles electrical filtering of the Rotax 912 regulator, protection and power distribution to the avionics system which includes dual Garmin G3X displays an autopilot, transponder and radio. I built the entire avionics cabling, designed the power distribution PCB and created the 3D-printed enclosure myself. One of the next planned evolutions is to move from thermal breakers to programmable electronic circuit breakers with current and response time settings adjustable via the avionics interface (CAN bus). I’m also working on an ADS-B receiver (first prototype is ready), which I plan to integrate with SoftRF to build a complete situational awareness system. I was looking for a way to display a synthesis of this data, and your project looks like the perfect match as this brick was missing and I started to realize that it was a bit too much for a single person. I’ve already started reading your documentation and playing with the code and I’d be happy to contribute. My main strengths are in electronic design and enclosure prototyping. I’m fully equipped for 3D printing (filament and resin), SMD soldering, RF prototyping and custom PCB fabrication. I already have a few contribution ideas aligned with your roadmap, such as support for static and dynamic pressure sensors. I could also contribute my ADS-B receiver module and help with bidirectional communication using the ADS-L protocol. Looking forward to collaborating and all that to say that I'm here to help on this project. Best regards, |
