indexing with 1D arrays fails?

Tracked this down to https://github.com/pydata/xarray/blob/55dc766fbee10312b288024457dec14f6d85e002/xarray/core/indexing.py#L2112 which is return np.asarray(result[self._coord_name]).squeeze().

That squeeze can't be right.
