How to use the Loudness effect/plugin?

I have read the LSP Loudness Compensator (Easy Effect uses this plugin) info page, but it's complicated for me to understand and has a different interface.
Your guidance is greatly appreciated.

That loudness plugin is in a little awkward position right now. It works but in most cases it would only make sense if its "Volume" control were acting like the system volume control. What is a little complicated to do in practice. The plugin is still useful for people that want to do some amount of loudness correction. But not in the situations most would want.

In any case there is not much to do. After selecting a loudness curve the user would select the target volume level. There isn't much need to touch the other controls. But depending on what you are trying to do it may be easier to use the autogain and/or the compressor plugin instead.
