Attributes with more than two states

I use a lot of models where the "attributes" are ordinal variables with 3 or more levels (e.g., low, med, high). I'm assuming this is not currently supported, any plans for supporting it in the future?

Also, are there ways of adding restrictions among attributes? That might allow me to fake my example with binary attributes.

I have a data set I can contribute, but it uses 3-level attributes. (It is the ACED data which is, among other places, in my CPTtools package, @ralmond).
