Scrolling very jumpy in latest chrome / slowing down page

We're using the latest public release of Chrome (40.0.2214.111).

Your own demo page at http://withassociates.github.io/microfiche.js/ appears to be broken.

The slideshow renders fine, but moving to the next slide, either manually, or in automatic mode, is very jumpy. On our own site, this is causing the rest of the page to become very unresponsive (even simple things like CSS hover styles grind to a halt).

We’ll try to get a Windows 7 environment to test this on. Any chance you could make a screen recording in the interim?
