We use a separate repository for binaries to isolate permissions for security keys:
https://docs.github.com/en/authentication/connecting-to-github-with-ssh/managing-deploy-keys#deploy-keys

If we don't isolate the security keys and they're compromised an attacker would have write access to the main repository and be able to change sources.
