Note linking

I'm trying to link notes. I'm not sure if I am doing it correctly. I have a Main note (standalone) it is the summary of collected data from articles. I have several articles I'm summarizing, ie Newton 2020, Smith 2024 and Frans 2012.
While the main note is open, I click the link creator starburst like icon on the top left. A new window opens with the three steps. I choose the summary note from Newton 2020 labeled data from Newton. Then on the right side, step 3, it shows Main notes at the bottom, creating the link (connecting Newton note and main note). Then ok.
The link is created, BUT it shows in the diagram as data moving FROM the summary TO the source Newton summary note. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Now, if I reverse the process and start from the newton summary note to the main note, it shows the opposite movement. Which is not correct, right?
Is there anyway a tutorial or further directions could be provided on using this method?
I'd like to use zotero with better notes to create an obsidian like connection.

The readme does not answer the question. I've seen it. Is there a smore specific readme? I'd be glad to read it.
