all installed but unusable setup on PopOs: windows are non-clickable and their content is non viewable

running popos alpha 24.04 (previous versions provide freerdp2) on a Lenovo P16 (12850hx 64GB, A3000 hybrid)

vnc session looks fine, manual freerdp session works fine. Setup was done with docker method. customized config only with username and password, tried both true and false for multi-mon. Running freerdp3 3.5.1+dfsg1. I know this is little information but glad to collect whatever is necessary/useful.

If I open any app, mouse cursor is visible, nothing happens if I click, nothing gets highlighted if I move over. if I hit ALT+space I can see the window menu appear. Tried both on multimon setup (4x QHD screens managed by nvidia dGPU) and with single integrated display (managed by iGPU). Here's an example of Excel (only app I can see anything in) on top of browser while writing this post.

just noticed that if I put the winapps app to full screen, mouse seem to be responsive (you may see one of the recent documents highlighted) but not if it isn't (do notice that the app is in foreground and only shows the left part of the RDP screen).

thanks @oskardotglobal for moving this to discussions rather than just closing it but I miss why this would be a discussion and not an issue given that freerdp on its own works fine but doesn't when invoked for winapps.

This is not a WinApps issue. This is an issue with FreeRDPs app mode, there is nothing we can do.

@oskardotglobal thanks! I didn't know there was a specific app mode; I'll investigate (not that I expect to do better than others but perhaps I can find ways to mitigate the problems while a solution comes up) and report here if I discover something useful.

Given how many people are successfully leveraging winapps and their (legitimante) enthusiasm about it, I hope to find what makes my use case different/causes the problem and see if there's anything I can change in my environment to make it work. Else I will have to revert back to a simple and straight VM which definitely doesn't offer all the perks that winapps offer. Thx again!
