How to not use Musicbrainz / use other metadata service?

Is there a way to set it to not use Musicbrainz by default? Musicbrainz tends to have inaccurate data and I'd rather use other sources

Maybe the solution is to update the Musicbrainz metadata. To implement other sources needs to that sources api , plus the need to keep it up to date etc. Keeping Musicbrainz accurate (and correct) is an alturistic act %-).

It is easy to stop whipper doing musicbrainz and gnudb.org lookups.

It will rip using the CD TOC data. If you want to use other sources it would be a bit of work. A lot of sources seem to use discid from gnudb.org or MusicBrainzdiscid for lookup. Discogs (for example) does not seem to have this data available. If you have the data you could transpose it into Musicbrainz metadata and then use that.

One way to do it if you understand python and have root access to the python "site library":
Add a config value to [whipper.cd.rip] -> "lookup = False".
Alter the cd.py command like
