Since I've upgraded the file-type package, I can't compile my app with rsbuild anyore. Jiti crashes:

I just started with rsbuild dev which comes with jiti included.

Then why can't I build it? Is there some misconfiguration? Isn't rsbuild supposed to do everything automatically?

Try importing file-type in the rsbuild config of a new rsbuild project and it works fine.
You can provide a reproducible demo and we can look at this problem together.

Before starting the build, Node.js first needs to resolve all modules, including the modules used in rsbuild.config.ts. This error occurs during the Node.js resolution step, not during the Rsbuild build.

Isn't rsbuild supposed to do everything automatically?

Rsbuild runs in Node.js, so you need to follow the Node.js ESM specification. This is an unreasonable requirement. Rsbuild is not a silver bullet.
