Spot check this morning reveals that for Red Flag Warning and Fire Weather Watch, the fire zone URLs are used. For Special Weather Statements relating to fire risk, the forecast zones are used, but for the ones I checked, the forecast and fire zones overlap (same identifier), so you don't get a 404. So possibly this is restricted only to alerts types like SPS that are not specifically fire related, and only when the affected zones are of type fire that do not overlap with the forecast zone. |

NWS Albany issued an SPS for zone NYZ207>209. These are fire zones, but the API is returning the affectedZones URLs as forecast zones.
affectedZones includes
https://api.weather.gov/zones/forecast/NYZ207
which gives a 404. It should behttps://api.weather.gov/zones/fire/NYZ207
instead.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
