March 4: Two heat-based hazard names will change

On March 4, there will be a transition

• “Excessive Heat Watch” will become “Extreme Heat Watch”
• “Excessive Heat Warning” will become “Extreme Heat Warning”

The VTEC phenomena code "EH" will become "XH”

Thanks for the reminder, I lost track of this, and I usually watch the change notices pretty closely. I have the March 18 zone changes on my calendar.

As a heads up, the Alert Type endpoint doesn't look like it has been updated - https://api.weather.gov/alerts/types.

It's also missing "Cold Weather Advisory" from the October 1, 2024 change.

NCO deployed an update to implement this change notice today, but there was an issue and it was rolled back. (Source: SDM)

The Help - Hazards Map page has been updated. So does that mean this did get done or is "rolled back" still the status?
