Hey all,

Manu from pikapods.com here. I wanted to wish you all the best for this fork and also offer our support. We have been offering Maybe to our users for about half a year now and run a bit under 100 pods using Maybe.

Given recent changes, we have switched our users to Sure today and also sent them a notification inviting them to participate in this new fork.

If the current maintainers are open to it, we also offer a revenue share program to open source authors that gives 20% of an app's revenue back to the community. Since we already run a good number of Maybe pods, this would start from a good base. And we know from experience that finance apps work fairly well on our platform.

You could also mention us as one-click install option in the docs or README. So users can quickly get started with the app. Once things are more stable we can also feature this story in our newsletter that goes to most our users monthly.

Looking forward to hearing what the maintainers and community thinks.

Thanks for reaching out @m3nu! More that revenue splits what I am in love to hear we will have is users beyond self-hosting (personally trying to set up a demo site when I find time!) Will reach-out and have a conversation to see what makes most sense to do together.

Of course. I can add that for this one pod. Would you fully wipe it to 0 or restore some basic state that has a demo user and some example data in it?

The test pod is now running on the demo data. So logins are the same as in the README:

No, we don't expose a cron feature currently. Only a few apps need an external cron job and for those we set a standardized one. So it's not something that was needed so far.

Thanks for doing it for Sure! How about DNS mapping demo.sure.am to sure-demo.pikapod.net ? I guess it could break other things like API, not sure it's needed really. Just thinking of the stuff I had in mind for the demo site setup myself.

Yes, we can map custom domains. That's a very popular feature. 😄

You just need to add a CNAME pointing to us in the sure.am zone:

CNAME demo sure-demo.pikapod.net

What about webhook callback domains, API endpoints? Those should be configured differently if those features are going to work.

Changing the domain will also update any related env vars an app uses to know about its own domain. So that's usually not an issue. It's more than just the DNS entry.
