Describe the feature

I would like the ability to split a single transaction into multiple smaller transactions. This feature should allow users to take one transaction (e.g., a $1,200 payment to a landlord that covers both rent and utilities) and break it down into multiple categorized transactions (e.g., $1,000 for rent, $200 for utilities). The original transaction should be hidden from the transaction list, and only the individual split transactions should be visible. Users should be able to edit and re-split these transactions as needed.

Why is this feature important?

This feature enhances personal finance management by enabling transaction splitting, which:

• Improves Categorization: Real-world payments often span multiple categories (for example, rent and utilities). Splitting avoids vague “mixed” categories and produces more accurate spending data.
• Strengthens Budget Tracking: With precise categorization, users see exactly where their money goes, supporting smarter budgeting and planning.

Splits preserve data integrity because balances stay the same while still providing the detailed insights needed for effective financial management.
