Asus ROG PG279Q flickers despite my best efforts

My setup:
I have a dell 4k monitor and the Asus monitor connected to my KVM switch's video output ports.
I have 3 computers (Windows PC, Mac Mini M4 Pro and a Macbook Pro M1) all connected to the KVM switch.

Observations:

1. When I switch the KVM switch to my Windows PC, both monitors work perfectly.
2. On my Macbook Pro M1, I don't have BD installed. In MacOS display settings, I see refresh rates as 50Hz and 60Hz. When I select 50Hz for the Asus monitor everything works fine, when I select 60Hz there's a lot of flickering.
3. On my Mac Mini M4 Pro, I have BD installed. I don't see a way to select 50Hz as the refresh rate for some reason. Keeping the refresh rate as 60Hz (which shows as locked to 59.95Hz in the configuration protection section) has been giving me random flickering. Happens multiple times a day. Sometimes selecting "Reinitialize Display" seems to fix it temporarily until the computer/monitor goes to sleep and I attempt to wake it up again.

I've tried everything but nothing seems to completely resolve the flickering issue. Locking the settings in configuration protection has made it happen less often. But still happens multiple times a day. I tried to export edid, edit the file by adding 50Hz refresh and re-load it in BD. But the lower refresh rate doesn't show. I wasn't sure if I was using the calculator and AW edid editor tool right though.

This is severely crippling, would much appreciate help.

Hmm. This is a high refresh rate display. Do you have it working properly when you connect it directly (not via the KVM switch)?

Thank you for the prompt followup. I did some more digging into this, summary is below:

1. Connecting the monitor's HDMI 1.4 port directly to the Mac Mini's HDMI 2.1 port via a 8k 60Hz HDMI cable doesn't show the higher refresh rates either. This is because HDMI 1.4 is the bottleneck.
2. My KVM switch and the MM only have HDMI 2.1 output ports. So I'll have to connect my monitor via the HDMI port - this is because high speed HDMI to Display port cables do not appear to be very popular and require active adapting. So I won't be able to leverage the higher refresh rates but 60Hz should suffice for my purposes. Heck, I'd even be willing to settle for 50Hz if I have to.
3. In the brief time that I had my monitor connected directly via HDMI to the MM, I did not observe any flickering. But as I said, this is inconclusive because even via the KVM switch it often works fine for some time. It's not very convenient for me to run it like that for an extended time, but if we really need to run a longer test with the monitor connected directly LMK.

So 60Hz should work without flickering as all my cables, KVM switch, monitor and MM support it. But it does keep happening generally after the monitor wakes up from sleep but sometimes (rarely) during use as well. Please advise on next steps!

I don't have a specific recommendation I am afraid - this seems to be a KVM specific issue then. It would be best to use USB-C/DP but I understand this is not possible (maybe all ports are occupied). Maybe using a different switch or contacting the KVM switch manufacturer about the issue might help. If the problem is the KVM switch meddling with the EDID (and not some other negotiation issue), you can try downloading the display's EDID when connecting directly and then applying that EDID with the KVM connection.
