You can already do that in the app you can set the hardware brightness level to 100% and use software dimming to reduce brightness, combine it with software contrast if needed. There is even an option to make it all automated so the hardware brightness level is kept above a certain point (PWM treshold) while software (pixel color value) brightness (dimming) is in effect. Hi,
Some of us from LED Eye Strain Forum were discussing about Reduce White Point. The M-series MacBooks, although are using LCD and Mini-LED, still seem to have some backlight flickering (might not be exactly PWM but similar) at certain brightness or gray-level. I'm wondering if BetterDisplay can add a feature like what we have on iPhone and iPad where we can use higher brightness combo with reduced white point? It will also help in two years for the upcoming OLED MacBook Pro.
Thanks!
