I have installed BetterMonitor to get more granular scaling on my M4 Mac-mini, however when connecting a different M3 Pro Macbook Pro I get different scaling options.
Flexible scaling enabled for both. HiDPI enabled on both.
Native resolution is 5120x2160
Macbook Pro (M3 Pro) : the slider range in the UI is 69% (1767x745) to 200% (5120x2160)
Mac Mini M4 : slider range is : 100% (5120x2160) to 290% (1767x745)
On the M3 Pro, i have more options such as 150% (which is the ideal scaling for me)
Whereas on the M4 the next option after 100% (native and everything looks tiny), i get 167% (3072x1296).
I can't figure out why I'm getting different options for two different Macs connected to the same monitor using the same connection method - refresh rate is 60Hz too.
