Auto-detect monitor's input and disable the screen for the rest

Hi, thanks for the great app!

I have an external monitor supports 2 inputs. usb-c and DP. I always connect usb-c to my laptop and DP to my Mac Mini. When I use Mac Mini, I want to keep my laptop attached to usb-c for charging, but I wanted the monitor to be off, so I can still use my laptop using its native-screen, no content showing in my external monitor.

I'm currently able to achieve it by toggling this when I don't want it, but is there a way to auto detect if the current display signal is usb-c or not, if not, disable the screen.

If the display can report the current input with DDC read, you can create a script that continuously polls the display about the current input and enable/disable the display based on the result. I am not sure how well it would work in the practice though and this will certainly require some tinkering and experimentation.

thanks! able to get the value from:

➜  ~ betterdisplaycli get --name="BenQ PD2706U" -feature=ddc -vcp=0x60

and set by:

betterdisplaycli set --name="BenQ PD2706U"  -feature=ddc -vcp=0x60 -value=15

but what's the parameter to toggle the display on&off? it's "hardwarePowerOff"?

with soft-disconnect, you can use this to toggle the state (or set with on and off values of course if you don't want a toggle action):

betterdisplaycli toggle -n=benq -connected

that works perfectly. I put it into Alfred and works nicely.
