unable to switch to resolution, shows triangle and exclamation mark

i downloaded this program specifically to force a resolution of 765x503 on sequoia with apple silicon. however, clicking on the resolution does nothing, even after creating a dummy display and mirroring it. there's no tooltip for the triangle exclamation mark icon. what is going on?

It is an unsafe resolution. With some Macs these won't work sadly. You can still switch to them using BetterDisplay's CLI and use the connectionMode related options - however the desktop will be clipped/unresized. If you need this for some kind of production environment (like custom LED wall or something), this might still be fine as long as you place the content to the upper-left corner of the desktop's 765x503 pixels.
