defineModel with multiple Types throws a warning

I am posting this in the discussion section as it's quite hard to provide a reproducible online version.

But basically, what is happening is that we have a component, let's say a Switch, that has the following:

const modelValue = defineModel<boolean | string | number | null>()

This is in our library. We build it and install it into another project.

In the consuming app, when we use

const refWithAString = ref('someValue')
<Switch v-model="refWithAString">

We get a warning that the modelValue was expecting a boolean but got a string instead.

We tried to reproduce this on a StackBlitz, but we could not make the warning appear, as the build suppresses warnings.
Another side note that when we use the "traditional" way of defining a model we dont get this warning:

const props = defineProps<{modelValue: boolean | string | number | null }>()

const emit = defineEmits(['update:modelValue'])

I know defineModel is still experimental feature, but is this an intended behaviour?

It looks like a bug.

Not sure on first sight though, haven't personally followed the implementation of that proposal.
