Participating in Open Source projects written in Vue to imporve skills

Good morning everybody,

i learned and build a few apps now with Vue.js.
I would love to imporve my skills by working on "real life" projects instead of making something up.

Because im currently employed by a public authority i need to wait until my fixed employment duration is over (next year), thats why i cant apply to actual developer jobs right now.

I heard that working on open source porjects is a thing particularly for my issue. Is here anyone who can relate to that statement?

As soon as i heard about that i started googling for such projects but im pretty confused as if there is even a chance to participate.
Because most of the projects dont give any hints about beeing incomplete and looking for participants. The best thing would be the possibility to filter projects based on the used tech stack and porjects that actually look for participants.

If someone has an idea on how to engage this, i would appreciate that.
