Error in package vue@next

Our http service, which had been running for several years, suddenly encountered an error around January 2nd.

When viewing the service's http page in a browser, the following errors are displayed (in browser console by view source code):

1. GET https://unpkg.com/vue@next net::ERR_ABORTED 404 (Not Found)
2. Ресурс с «https://unpkg.com/vue@next» был заблокирован из-за несоответствия MIME-типа («text/plain») (X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff).
3. Uncaught ReferenceError: Vue is not defined http://marking-arm.corp.pskovmol.ru/js/app.js:76

These errors occur in the line 76 app.js:
"Vue.createApp(App).mount(‘#app’)"

Apparently something has changed in the package vue@next.
Please tell me how to fix this error?

vue package now do not have a tag named next. use https://unpkg.com/vue@^3.4.0 instead.

What do the words "(.runtime)" and "(.prod)" in the js filename mean?

There are four variations of the js-file:
vue.global.js
vue.global.prod.js
vue.runtime.global.js
vue.runtime.global.prod.js

Which one is better to use?

I tried to do it like this:

However, an error is thrown:
"Uncaught ReferenceError: Vue is not defined"

In your case, vue.global.js is preferred in dev mode while vue.global.prod.js in production. It is because you may write Vue Template directly into HTML and deploy without a build step.

In fact, I was also very troubled by this issue when I first migrated from HTML to Vue. Later I knew that UMD build is only an additional support and using a bundler is the most recommended way.

Consider exploring Vite + Vue, which is a new door to frontend development compared to writing static HTML.
