🐛 Describe the bug

I'm using runpods with vllm v0.9.1 (latest).

The command to start the container is

--host 0.0.0.0 --port 8000 --model mistralai/Mistral-Small-3.2-24B-Instruct-2506 --tokenizer_mode mistral --config_format mistral --load_format mistral --tool-call-parser mistral --enable-auto-tool-choice --tensor-parallel-size 2

I'm posting my request on the /v1/chat/completions API, with stream=true, temperature=0.15, max_tokens=131072. Messages include the system prompt privided by Mistral for that model, and a user request that triggers tool calling. Tools are in the OpenAI format.

When I execute the request, vllm is failing with

INFO 06-24 08:31:04 [async_llm.py:271] Added request chatcmpl-XXX.

The documentation chatbot suggested to add skip_special_tokens=False to the request, without success:

INFO: 100.64.0.20:32966 - "POST /v1/chat/completions HTTP/1.1" 400 Bad Request

I also tried using --chat-template examples/tool_chat_template_mistral_parallel.jinja, but I get

WARNING 06-24 08:57:31 [chat_utils.py:321] 'chat_template' cannot be overridden for mistral tokenizer.
