There is a need for a comprehensive mechanism to validate the syntax and semantic rules of RO-Crate metadata, ensuring compliance with JSON-LD and the RO-Crate specification. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Verifying that all fields and types used in ro-crate-metadata.json are properly declared in the @context (e.g., identifying "homeless" fields).
- Ensuring case sensitivity and adherence to naming conventions for properties and @type entries.
- Validating the presence and correctness of required properties such as conformsTo and the @context array following the RO-Crate 1.2-DRAFT specification.
