Consider using git submodule to manage create-vite templates?

So far I see the templates in create-vite folder are maintained manually (please correct me if I am wrong), which is messy and delayed, what about using git submodule to link all of the templates to their original repo?

@betterRunner the source of truth for the templates in create-vite is in its current location, they aren't maintained in other repositories.

Got it, thanks for the reply. By the way, even so, would it be more separate to place all templates into another repo and use git submodule to include them? Then the commits of template updates will not mix in the vite development commits.

We don't update the templates that much to justify the complexity. They are bare-bones playgrounds to test Vite. Some frameworks have their own starters that are in other repos (https://github.com/vuejs/create-vue), and in that case, we only need to include an extra option to run them from our CLI. No need to have a submodule to these repos.
