Low-Latency Playback Issue: Chrome Stalls on Audio Gaps, Firefox Doesn’t

Hi guys, We’re facing a playback issue with low-latency that seems to affect Chrome, but not Firefox.
In Chrome, the Timeline Demo tool shows some audio gaps. When playback reaches these points, a stall error is triggered—although the video continues playing. However, we notice a slight freeze or seek, and the media controls also appear briefly.

Interestingly, we don’t see these gaps in Firefox, nor do we observe any related issues in the Timeline tool. I’m trying to understand why Firefox handles this differently—could it be performing some kind of audio scaling or adjustment during playback?

Please fill out the Bug Report Template as part of your issue, making sure to include:

• Test stream/page (thanks - could not reproduce the issue with v1.6.5 and Chrome 136 on mac OS 15 - no audio gaps observed)
• Steps to reproduce
• Detailed information about the version of hls.js and platform tested on

For this issue a VOD or archive Live HLS playlist including just the segments or parts that reproduce the issue should be included.
