Using SWR outside of React, i.e. without the useSWR() hook.

Currently we use useSWR() + useEffect() combo as a crutch to connect fetched data to our mobx stores, e.g.:

const swrFoo = useSWR(...)

useEffect(() => {
  runInAction(() => {
    store.setSwrFoo(swrFoo)
  })
}, [swrFoo])

It is my understanding that the useSWR() hook can be a wrapper around some decent workflow of fetching, caching and invalidating data. I wonder: apart from the hooks, is something from that smart circuitry exposed for non-react usage?
