Question about the prometheus Sink

I want to migrate our statsd exporter to Vector with Prometheus exporter.
We set the sidecar vector to receive statsd data and send it to the central vector.

I have a few questions to ask.

1. Is there a way to use a single port for the Prometheus exporter sink and apply different bucket configurations per metric?

• Statsd-exporter can configure this, but I cannot find the option in Vector.

2. If I set the expire_metrics_per_metric_set, does this apply to the final metrics name after using the transform process and default namespace, or will it apply to the original metric name?

1. No, currently Vector's prometheus_exporter sink does not support per-metric bucket configuration the way statsd-exporter does. There is a feature request open for this: Big changes in configuration crash Vector #15824
2. Yes, this https://vector.dev/docs/reference/configuration/global-options/#expire_metrics_per_metric_set setting will apply only if the name matches (it doesn't know if it was transformed previously)
