What's the consensus opinion (and the technical feasibility) on extending the user group permissions scope to include restricting by document type, in addition to "sections" and explicit nodes?
Currently, from what I can tell, if you grant a user permission to create "Content", they can create content of any document type that is viable for that scope.
If you have access delegated to user for specific tasks, you might not want them having free reign over the content (e.g. if you have an "events manager" you might only want them creating "event" documents, and not creating other pages).
Additionaly, it would allow more granular controls over element types, giving administrators the ability to scope blocks available in the grid editor, curtailing renegade edits and reducing the visual load when a lot of irrelevent block options are displayed to an editor.
