Usability feature: Selecting variants when publishing when only one option

When you have a variant variable node and you change one variant and publish it always shows a dialog asking which variant you would like to publish. I think it is only necessary when more than one variant is available to select to publish. It would save one click that is annoying and makes the editor think and it is not very usable.
