Sorry, horrible title, but I think the UI for podcast categories isn't optimal. Especially on mobile where the list of categories is long and hard to navigate. What is the sorting system here? They are not sorted alphabetically - most common?
When you click a category, it is moved to the start of the list - it's a bit confusing.

How about just selecting the category and not moving it?

Also, I would expect that if I click an already selected category (eg. music), that would become deselected and "all categories" would be selected (again).

Another option would be to hide the filter in a dropdown, but this lacks the quick access / discoverability that the UI has now. In this mockup I've moved the country fliter here too, away from the search field.
Personally, most of the times I can find the podcast I'm looking for, without using these filters.

It's most importantly for charts but indeed not very needed maybe instead use it for an array of charts in the list view to scroll through

I don't understand why this is wanted. If I select the Music category, but also want to check out News (which is right next to it), suddenly Music is at the beginning of the list and now I have to scroll back through the list to find News again. It's the "jumping around" that I find confusing.

I'm not sure what you mean, but having the globe icon makes it look a bit like you are searching for a country - just a bit. I totally understand why it's there, but IMO it's a very prominent position for something that I doubt many users actually use.

Ahh, sorry 🫣 I know drop downs are a no-go on mobile. What I meant was, to have the search appear as it does now. Buf ofc it might be bad practice to have something look like a dropdown and then behave slightly different. Maybe just using a filter icon and not a down arrow would solve this 🤷

And ofc the same for categories. You click the dropdown button and the list pops up.

Very nice ideas. Let's move it to a discussion until we have all designs. If we redesign it I fear we also need to adapt the other search pages for radio and local. Currently they all look the same
