Can't get out of test menu in the lost world

So when i adjust the guns in the test menu. no matter how many times i press the test button
i can't get out of the menu and i have to close the game. how can i fix this?

after testing some old releases from the old web site it breaks somewhere between these

2025-04-17 - Supermodel_0.3a-git-2272893_Win64 - Broken
2025-04-10 - Supermodel_0.3a-git-210fa3d_Win64 - Working

there was a cluster of commits between those releases so hard to tell exactly where it breaks
