Intel Classic Compiler Support Ending

With the upcoming release of Kokkos 4.6, the Intel Classic compilers (icc/icpc/ifort) will no longer be supported. As Trilinos typically tracks the most recent Kokkos release, this also means that support for the Intel Classic compilers will be ending in Trilinos as well.

We anticipate this change taking effect within the next 2-4 weeks, and will update this announcement as progress is made. We are planning on transitioning the CI testing environments to use the newer Intel OneAPI compilers prior to integrating the new Kokkos release.

The Intel Classic testing configuration in the CI/PR testing is going to be disabled TODAY, 03/27/2025. Intel OneAPI support in CI is currently being worked: #13881
