That's pretty interesting 😀 However the article is now almost 3 years old, I wonder what have been the progress since then... If I had to add my 2cents:
I guess the most compelling reason to implement new Python bindings is because Godot-Python is still WIP to support Godot 4 ^^
I not totally sure it's still the case for Godot 4, but the introspection API is not available when Godot is compiled in the default release mode in order to reduce the binary size. You choose your battle wisely here 👍
